OBEDIENCE

PRIVATE LESSONS vs GROUP CLASSES

Private Lessons:

  • Can accommodate special needs of the clients.
  • Can be arranged to suit your schedule.
  • Can focus on your specific problems as well as basic obedience.
  • Reactive or very shy dogs benefit from Private Instruction before integration into a regular class.

Group Classes

  • Provide socialization for your dog with other people and dogs.
  • Let you meet and learn from other dog owners.
  • Provides distractions to help you train your dog to pay attention to you.
  • Are less expensive than Private Training.

Obedience Lessons:

Private lessons available at your home or where needed within the district of Chilliwack. At $60.00 per hour, lesson at your home are tailored to your needs.

PUPPY KINDERGARDEN:

  • Puppies need a good start in life by having their new owners become firm, fair and consistent leaders.
  • Puppies are taught using age appropriate methods to teach: house training, feeding routines, chewing habits, loose leash walking, trading up, start of the 'come' command, sit/down/stand, a settle command, proper greeting skills, & socialization.
  • We deal with habits like jumping up, inappropriate chewing, counter surfing, and submissive urination.
  • By teaching the handlers how to break games and tricks down into learnable steps for the dog, the owners get to pick a bran new behavior and teach the class how they did it.

BASIC OBEDIENCE:

  • Dogs learn to mind their owners by using humane methods with positive re-enforcement.
  • Dogs are taught sit, greeting skills, down, stand, loose leash walking, heel, come, stay, and a release command. If time allows we often cover a leave-it command, a drop-it command and a look command.
  • Dog and handlers take a field trip, discuss meeting of other dogs and responsible pet ownership.
  • Dog owners are taught how to teach a command, how to correct a command and how to proof a skill with distraction.
