Welcome to MAD DOG AGILITY

Mad Dog Agility started out as primarily an agility training facility in 1998.

Mindy Lamont and Renee Hughes started Mad Dog Agility, and rented a horse barn on the old Chilliwack Fair Grounds. Together we shared the responsibility and the chores, as well as hunting around to borrow equipment for our first set of classes.

Mindy and Renee spent many hours discussing training methods, class lesson plans and class structure. They studied training tapes and books, took seminars, trialed their own dogs all to become better handlers and dog trainers.

In 2001 and 2002 Mad Dog Agility did a few AAC trails: 2 at Heritage Park, Chilliwack B.C. and 1 at the Yarrow Sports Field, Yarrow B.C. There were all well received with lots of ribbons and titles being earned. One trail we did over 1100 runs in 2 days - thank goodness I had great support, volunteers, judges, and top notch score keeper!!!

Mad Dog Agility only uses methods that would motivate dogs to want to play agility. During the dog's learning - the handlers get all excited at how smart thier dog is - then next thing you know the handlers are teaching their dogs all kinds of things!!!

In the few years Mad Dog Agility has been training dogs and their handlers we've had students dogs become Agility Trial Champions, handlers have become instructors (yea some better than others... but what can I do?), some handlers have become fabulous instructors and even one student became a Master Level AAC Judge. We have had student's that have had top 4 rankings in AAC Regional and National events.

Train your dog to 'be all he can be' and he'll be a dog that you enjoy to be around, a dog that lives a longer happier life, and you'll be so proud of your work - and not to mention; the journey will be priceless!!!

I hope you're inspired to get out and have fun with your dog
